Cincinnati CIO Roundtable and UC's School of Information Technology announce a new partnership

March 5, 2026

The University of Cincinnati’s School of Information Technology (SoIT) is preparing to announce a historic collaborative partnership with the Cincinnati CIO Roundtable, a unique and collegial forum for chief information officers in the region's largest organizations. The official announcement, which includes a formal signing, will take place on March 4th, 2026, at the University of Cincinnati Teachers Dyer Complex, room 407 (Annie Laws) at 11:30 a.m. The goal of the collaboration, says SoIT director Hazem Said, is to close the gap between the classroom and the boardroom.

University of Cincinnati recognized with 16 rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs

January 29, 2026

U.S. News and World Report (the global authority in education rankings) published its 2026 Best Online Programs rankings on January 27, 2026, recognizing the University of Cincinnati with 16 spots in the list of degree-granting university programs that affordably serve the educational needs of distance learners in a reasonable timeframe. Programs within the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH) represent seven of these rankings.

Reesë Tuttle is going to change the world

December 5, 2025

Reesë Tuttle earned five college degrees before graduating high school, but the University of Cincinnati's School of Information Technology provided her the opportunity to have a traditional college experience — even if just for the year it took her to complete her second bachelor's degree. She shares why she decided to pursue a bachelor of science in information technology (BSIT) at UC, as well as how her new startup, a security training platform, was developed with the ultimate goal of saving lives.

Grad student Joey Yong found leadership, networking opportunities at UC

Joey Yong is a graduate student in the UC School of Information Technology's Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program. As she nears graduation this December, the central Kentucky native looks back on the invaluable instruction, networking opportunities and leadership lessons she gained during her time at UC.

With the 2025-26 school year at the University of Cincinnati off to a strong start, the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH) is excited to welcome 14 new faculty members to the classrooms and hallways of the Teachers-Dyer Complex for the fall semester.

One year of leadership at UC

July 1, 2025, marked the one-year anniversary for Lisa Huffman in the role of Dean of University of Cincinnati’s College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology – CECH or, as she refers to it, CECH-IT (“catch it”). It’s been a year of undeniable changes and challenges, but Huffman is focused on celebrating what she calls "the best job in the world."
