Why study College Teaching?

The Certificate in College Teaching is an interdisciplinary certificate that aims to equip graduate-level students with the necessary development and tools to pursue a career in academia. The program allows students to gain skills in teaching, professional development, and accessibility.

By allowing students to select classes they want to take from an expanded curriculum, they can mold the certificate into an experience that best fits their needs for their future career aspirations. The graduate certificate in College Teaching is a student-centered program that supports the academic and professional growth of its participants across a broad range of disciplines.

Admission Requirements

  • Applications are accepted for all three entry terms (Spring, Summer, Fall). 
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree.
  • One letter of recommendation.

It provides insights on industry, occupation, compensation, and projected growth for each profession. Economic and workforce information is available for various geographic regions. Some careers may require additional training or education.

In order to graduate from the UC College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services, a student must:

  • Complete all required course work and program requirements.
  • Obtain at least a 3.0 university grade point average.
  • Be in good academic standing; that is, not on academic or disciplinary probation or suspension.
