Supporting Students with Specialized Needs

The Ohio Center for Deafblind Education (OCDBE) supports children and youth with combined hearing-vision loss, along with their families and the educators who serve them. Through training, consultation, and technical assistance, the project helps schools and communities provide high-quality educational services that meet each student's unique needs.

OCDBE works across Ohio to build educator expertise, strengthen statewide support systems, promote earlier and accurate identification of children with combined hearing-vision loss, and improve opportunities that prepare students for successful futures.

Family CAFÉ (Center to Advance Family Engagement) helps families and schools build stronger partnerships so students with disabilities receive the support they need to succeed. The project places special emphasis on supporting highly mobile families (e.g., military-connected, migrant), who
often face additional challenges in staying connected to schools.

Family CAFÉ provides professional learning, coaching, practical resources, and technical assistance that help families participate confidently in their children's education while helping educators implement effective family engagement practices that benefit students.
