Academic Writing Center

The University Writing Center supports UC’s distance learners by offering online appointments that connect students with trained writing consultants from anywhere.

Online students can schedule virtual sessions through the Writing Center’s online scheduling system, where they can choose a consultant, select a time, and indicate whether they prefer a live online consultation or written feedback on a draft.

During these 1:1 sessions, students can receive support at any stage of the writing process, from understanding an assignment and brainstorming ideas to revising and polishing final papers. The Writing Center also offers online resources and guides to help distance learners build long-term writing skills, ensuring they feel supported and confident in their academic and professional writing
