This program is intended for community members who want to explore a new career in computing and technology – especially those with little-to-no experience. There are many pathways to a career in technology and here you will acquire the requisite knowledge and experience necessary to find opportunities to start a career in IT.
This program is for Ohio residents who are low income, partially unemployed, or totally unemployed. The University of Cincinanti will cover all tuition, fees, and additional costs to help you learn new skills and earn a credential that can lead to a good job! About the Course
The course covers the essentials of computing and provides valuable insights on the many different pathways for a career in technology. The course will provide you with essential IT skills based upon CompTIA ITF+ curriculum. This course and the ITF+ certification are designed as the starting point for a career in IT support. Obtaining ITF+ certification will show that you have the aptitude to pursue a professional-level certification, such as CompTIA A+.

- 10 weeks, 12 hrs/week (120 hours)
- Online Instruction (Self-paced with Instructor Guidance) and 2 live online meetings.
- Support from UC instructors and Teaching Assistants
- Weekly virtual check-ins and office hours
Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn a certification from CompTIA and be fully prepared to explore opportunities for tech apprenticeships or future technology training programs. While this course and certification may not necessarily lead directly to a job in IT Support, it will help you attain the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in Information Technology or computing.
As a graduate of this program, you will have access to career development tools and services to help you get a good job!
