Middle Childhood Education, Endorsement Only
Professional Development
The State of Ohio and the faculty of the Middle Childhood Program have devised a special provision for teachers holding a current teaching license who desire to obtain a Middle Childhood Endorsement. This endorsement will allow teachers to provide instruction in two areas of concentration in grades 4-9.
Candidates will be advised on individual basis by either the program coordinator or a MDL faculty member. Individuals should contact the program chair by calling 556-3600.
Licensure Information
Concentration Courses
Choose two areas of concentration (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) and follow the attached list of courses that match your concentration area choices. For substitutions, check with program coordinator or faculty advisor by bringing in a copy of your transcripts.
Praxis II Tests
Candidates must pass the following PRAXIS II tests prior to applying for the MDL license:
- Grades 5-9: Principles of Learning and Teaching
- Middle Childhood Concentration Area Tests
