Dr. Sharma is a physician by initial training and has also completed his doctorate in Preventive Medicine/Public Health from The Ohio State University. He has worked in Community Health for more than 25 years at all levels: Local level (Columbus Health Department, Omaha Healthy Start Program, Lead Safe Omaha Coalition); State level (Nebraska Health & Human Services, Ohio Department of Health); National level (ASHA, CDC, USEPA); and International level (India, Italy, Mongolia, Nepal, UAE, UK, Vietnam). His research interests are in designing and evaluating theory-based health education and health promotion programs, alternative and complementary systems of health, and community-based participatory research.
