Licensure Applications
Students in the Educational Leadership Program may obtain administrative licensure as part of their degree coursework. In addition to the required coursework, applicants must also pass the Praxis II Exam in Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision. All beginning administrators must successfully complete an entry year program before they are issued a professional license by the State of Ohio. All students who want to complete any Administrative Specialist licenses or Superintendency license program must obtain a Principal license first.
Principal Licensure - Ohio
There are four documents you need to access in order to complete the administrative license for Principal. The Checklist will help you complete your application for licensure in the State of Ohio. Please print out a copy of the checklist to help you with this process. Then you need to complete the College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services Licensure Application and the Initial Ohio Licensure Application for the State of Ohio. Finally, you need to complete the Teaching Verification Experience Form.

Principal Licensure - Other States
In addition to the Master of Education degree, there are generally additional requirements for principal licensure. The requirements vary by state. It is important that you contact your state department of education to determine the requirements and procedures necessary for you to be licensed in your state.
