1. Perseverance Gets Student Coveted Internship

    Jared Lefever wanted to gain experience in Athletic Training at the highest level. After applying to 22 different NFL teams across the nation, the Denver Broncos were the first to call.

    "I was excited and scared at the same time," Jared said. "Not only was I going to be working for a professional football team, but also representing my school and our program." From learning new techniques to working with talented players, Jared was in for the experience of a lifetime.

Police Officer

Do you aspire to serve and protect? Being a police officer is more than just a job - it requires integrity, dedication and responsibility to your community, both on and off-duty. Through Criminal Justice studies, you'll be prepared to work in law enforcement, the courts, corrections, criminal justice administration, crime prevention, or youth services. If you're already employed in the field, the degree is a great vehicle for career advancement.

Opportunities for field work exist with area law enforcement, court systems, and corrections facilities, allowing you to gain experience before entering the force. Graduates can also go on to work in federal organizations including the CIA and the Department of Homeland Security.

Sign Language Interpreting

Do you enjoy learning sign language and want to pursue it as a profession? Professional sign language interpreters can work in education, mental health, medical, video relay services, legal, workplace and business, and other various settings.

Through coursework and supervised field experiences, you'll learn the skills to make a difference in the lives of hard-of-hearing children and adults. Program graduates meet the prerequisites for national licensure through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and work in a variety of community-based settings.

Teacher

Do you want a career that truly makes a difference? Our teacher education programs, ranked in the Top 100 Schools of Education in the U.S., will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become a caring and competent teacher. You'll gain experience through observation, student teaching, and internships. Graduates teach in public or privates schools; in particular, many job opportunities await middle school teachers, science, math and foreign language high school teachers, and intervention specialists (special education) for all ages.

Athletic Trainer

Do you love sports and have a drive to see athletes perform their best? A career in Athletic Training focuses on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of physical injuries. You'll learn to educate patients and provide care for a variety of injuries, from minor sprains to chronic medical conditions. Students gain experience in the field studying with the Reds, Bengals, even the Cincinnati Ballet.

As an athletic trainer, you'll not only find job opportunities on the field, but also in schools, universities, hospitals, and fitness centers, as well as in the military, law enforcement, and performing arts - just about anywhere where people are active.

School Principals set the bar for excellence and accountability in the classroom, from developing goals and standards to managing and motivating staff and students. Principals supervise all aspects of an organization including facilities, staffing, educational goals and budgeting. Community Health Professional

Do you want to join the growing industry of health education? Community Health Educators prevent illness by informing and educating individuals and communities about topics such as proper nutrition and exercise, and the habits and behaviors necessary to avoid illness. You'll learn approaches to account for different audiences and their cultural norms, from breast cancer awareness programs for women, to teaching the effects of binge drinking to students.

Opportunities in this field include public health departments, voluntary health agencies, hospitals and insurance companies. You may spend a lot of time away from the office, meeting with community organizers, speaking with patients, or teaching classes. Paralegal

Do you thrive on research and organization, with a passion to see justice in action? The fast-growing field of Paralegal Studies opens the doors to opportunities in law firms, private practices, corporate legal departments, and government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Justice, the Social Security Administration, and the U.S. Department of Treasury.
